A configuration parameter controlling the amount of locks allocated for each transaction

max_locks_per_transaction is a configuration parameter controlling the average number of object locks allocated for each transaction.

max_locks_per_transaction was added in PostgreSQL 7.2.

Default value

The default value for max_locks_per_transaction is: 64.


On a standby, max_locks_per_transaction must be set to the same or higher value as on the primary.

The current value of max_locks_per_transaction is one of the GUC parameters recorded in pg_control.
