log_parameter_max_length_on_error

A configuration parameter determining the maximum length of bind parameter value reported in error log messages

log_parameter_max_length_on_error is a configuration parameter determining the maximum length of bind parameter value reported in error log messages.

log_parameter_max_length_on_error was added in PostgreSQL 13.

Default value

The default value for log_parameter_max_length_on_error is: 0 (disabled).

Usage

If greater than zero, the bind parameter values reported in error messages are trimmed to the specified number of bytes.

If the value is set to -1, each bind parameter is reported in its full length.
