log_min_messages

A server parameter controlling message levels sent to the server log

log_min_messages is a configuration parameter| controlling message levels sent to the server log.

log_min_messages was added in PostgreSQL 7.4.

Usage

log_min_messages can be set to one of the following values, in order of increasing verbosity:

  • PANIC
  • FATAL
  • LOG
  • ERROR
  • WARNING
  • NOTICE
  • INFO
  • DEBUG1
  • DEBUG2
  • DEBUG3
  • DEBUG4
  • DEBUG5

Each level includes the messages of the preceding levels. It is not possible to receive messages only for a particular log level.

Default value

The default value for log_min_messages is: WARNING.
